Advanced Lens Options in Virginia & Tennessee

Some eyes need more than standard contact lenses. At Envision Eye Care, we help patients across Marion, Cedar Bluff, Bristol, Abingdon, and Gray find lenses that support clear, stable vision, even when dryness, irregular corneas, or conditions like keratoconus make traditional lenses uncomfortable. Our specialty fittings are guided by eye doctors with extensive training and experience.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral lenses are among the most effective and comfortable solutions for patients who have difficulty wearing traditional soft lenses. These lenses rest on the white part of the eye (the sclera) and vault over the cornea without touching its surface. That extra space holds a fluid reservoir, which keeps your eyes hydrated, smooths out irregularities, and provides more stable vision.

Scleral lenses are especially helpful if you have:

  • Keratoconus or irregular corneas

  • Chronic dry eye

  • Poor comfort with traditional soft lenses

  • High prescriptions that are difficult to correct with standard contacts

Patients often tell us scleral lenses feel surprisingly comfortable, even if they’ve struggled with contacts in the past.

Contact Lenses for Keratoconus

Keratoconus changes the cornea's shape, often making standard contact lenses uncomfortable or unstable. Our eye doctors are skilled in fitting lenses designed specifically for the unique shape of keratoconic eyes. These lenses provide improved clarity, stability, and comfort so you can enjoy reliable vision throughout your day.

Your options may include:

Scleral Lenses

Provides clarity and comfort for most keratoconus patients.

Hybrid Lenses

Combines a soft outer edge with a rigid center for sharper vision.

Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) Lenses

Custom rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses for patients who prefer a smaller, more traditional design.

Other Specialty Lens Options

Some vision needs require lenses that go beyond standard corrections, and we offer several advanced options to support your comfort and clarity. These may include:

  • Toric lenses for high or irregular astigmatism

  • Multifocal specialty lenses for patients needing near and distance correction

  • Post-surgical lenses for eyes with scarring or irregularities following surgery

  • Orthokeratology (ortho-k) for reshaping the cornea overnight

No matter your situation, we’ll guide you toward the lens that helps you see your best.
