Dr. Carson Sykes is a proud native of Haysi, Virginia. His interest in eye care began early in life, shaped by a desire to serve the people and communities of Southwest Virginia. After completing his Advanced Associate Degree in Medical Science at Southwest Virginia Community College, Dr. Sykes went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Kentucky College of Optometry, where he graduated as a Beta Sigma Kappa honor student.
During his clinical training, Dr. Sykes completed an internship at the James H. Quillen Veterans Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. There, he gained experience in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.

As someone who grew up in the region, Dr. Sykes enjoys cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, spending time with his family, and enjoying the outdoors.
